Charles Tyrwhitt recognises that as a business we have an impact on the environment so wherever possible we make an effort to reduce this. We are mindful of our entire supply chain and work with environmentally responsible suppliers. We reuse, reduce and recycle in all CT locations and ensure we are as energy efficient as possible. We continually revise our environmental efforts and believe that even the little things count. We’ve recently done away with paper towels in our loos in favour of super slick, energy efficient dyers… what a blast!
We are proud of our products. We not only seek the best quality and value but we are committed to ensuring that they are produced in an ethical way. We adhere to an Ethical Policy which is compliant with the Ethical Trading Initiative’s Base Code of Fair Trade and Production. Our products are produced in safe and hygienic environments. Slavery, inhumane treatment and child working is absolutely not acceptable; we work closely with our suppliers and producers to eradicate such practices in the garment production industry.
Charles Tyrwhitt cares! We partner with various organisations to ensure we give back! We regularly donate returned or unsaleable products to charity, we give every Tyrwhitteer one day off per year to volunteer for charity and we have a pay as you earn scheme so our kind people can donate to the charity of their choice directly from their pay each month – CT even matches it! Additionally we are proud patrons of The Prince’s Trust. See below to find out the amazing work we are doing to support this important cause.
Fundraising for The Prince's Trust
We are committed to making as much dosh as poss for our partner charity. Each year we take part in corporate challenges, bake sales, raffles, epic feats of physical endurance, fun nights out (and in), fancy dress days, competitions and all kinds of other silly, inspiring, crazy or brilliant ideas to raise money for a fantastic cause. This year CT sponsored The Prince’s Trust Corporate Employer Awards and took part in the 2017 Palace to Palace ride. Additionally, Nick (the bike) Wheeler two-wheeled it from Land’s End to John O’Groats and raised bags of lolly for The Prince’s Trust. In 2018 we will create a co-branded product to sell for The Prince’s Trust.
Volunteering and Mentoring for The Prince's Trust
Our partnership with The Prince’s Trust goes much deeper than simply donating money. We also offer up the skills and experience of our talented Tyrwhitteers. We get involved in mentoring individuals and we volunteer our time to support with all sort of projects run by the trust. We even create development opportunities for young people; inviting them into our business so they can experience “the world of work”.
Hiring with The Prince's Trust
We recognise that sometimes all young people need is a “break”, someone who give them the chance to shine. This is why we regularly attend “Get Hired” events hosted by The Prince’s Trust and offer young people the opportunity to join our business. We have been very successful in supporting young people into work with us and benefit from their talents. It’s WIN:WIN
